Kaban Hotel and Casino Boracay said it respects the concerns raised by the Diocese of Kalibo over casino operations on the island, while assuring the community that the development operates under strict government regulation and responsible gaming safeguards.
KABAN said its gaming facility is licensed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. and complies with applicable laws and PAGCOR regulations governing casino operations.
Gaming areas are restricted to persons aged 21 and above, with KYC procedures, identification checks and controlled access. Persons prohibited under government regulations, as well as Malay local residents, are likewise prohibited from entering or playing.
“KABAN respects the views of the Church and recognizes its important role in raising concerns affecting families and communities,” the company said. “We share the belief that Boracay must be protected and developed responsibly.”
KABAN stressed that the development is more than a gaming facility. Its 88-room hotel includes seven dining concepts, wellness, leisure and entertainment facilities designed to broaden Boracay’s tourism offerings.
The company also said about 40 percent of its employees are Aklanons, providing jobs and income directly to residents.
KABAN said its broader investment in Station 0 is expected to generate additional opportunities for local workers, suppliers, service providers and businesses as tourism activity expands in northern Boracay.
“We intend to grow with Boracay and its people while remaining a responsible member of the community,” KABAN said.
